Collaboration with the conferences of specialised ministers
Departments at state level are partners in the digitalisation of administrative services
The conferences of specialised ministers are key partners in the digitalisation of Germany’s administrative sector. These are regular meetings of the specialised ministers at the state level where they make joint decisions on the direction to move in. The German IT Planning Council collaborates with the conferences of specialised ministers, specifically on matters where its decisions affect their planning. This is set out in the IT state treaty. At the same time, large-scale digitalisation projects can succeed only through cooperation, for example when amendments to state laws are necessary.
To this end, the IT Planning Council reports on its work in the conferences of specialised ministers and also communicates with individual conferences of ministers more extensively regarding select topics.
